Nikki and Connor at The Brass Heart

Nikki and Connor were thrilled when they found their wedding site. They were looking for an old New Hampshire barn and The Brass Heart is exactly what they were dreaming of with a two story barn, beautiful views of the mountains, total privacy, and guest cottages for their families and wedding party.

Nikki’s favorite flowers are Sea Lavendar and Gerbera daisies. All of the bouquets and arrangements included the sea lavender. Nikki decided to use the gerberas for the ceremony and reception arrangements. Nikki chose bridal white roses, cream lisianthus, Queen Anne’s lace, and sea lavender for her bouquet. Her Maids carried smaller versions of Nikki’s bouquet with the addition of lavender delphinium.

Nikki and Connor's vision for their wedding was rustic elegance with a country estate ambiance. Nikki's Dad was put in charge of building their wedding arbor which he made from rough beams and assembled on site even though he had recently broken his leg. We decorated the arbor with grapevine and whispy layers of tulle. Flowers were added along the top perimeter of the arbor as well as knots on the poles to catch the tulle. We chose creamy white gerberas, La Reve lilies, lavender delphinium, sea lavender, feverfew, Queen Anne’s lace along with lemon leaf and artemesia.

The farm house porch was decorated with garlands of grapevine adorned with wedding flowers. The bride and her wedding party processed from the front porch of the Inn to the waiting arbor.

The two story barn was transformed into an elegant reception spot. Along the balcony grapevine and lights were woven creating the impression that it was growing naturally. Dramatic arrangements of wedding flowers in galvanized French florist tins were hung from the balcony rails bringing wonderful color, smells, and grandeur to the rustic barn. The guest tables had grapevine wreaths designed with wedding flowers around lanterns that made a lovely glow in the barn after the sun set. Each napkin was accented with sprigs of lavender. Nikki and Connor danced the night away with their family and guests and retreated to the honeymoon cottage under a shower of lavender petals tossed by the guests from grapevine baskets.
